5th Annual Ontario Week of Appreciation for the Nonprofit Sector
Nonprofits don't get appreciated or honoured enough for the impact they have in our communities every day... but, on May 14th, Canso Investment Counsel's Heather Mason Wood made sure that they did.
Thank you to all who joined us at the National Club on May 14th to celebrate the 5th annual Ontario Week of Appreciation for the Nonprofit Sector!
The panel discussion moderated by Charles Achampong of Capacity Canada was a hit! MP Chi Nyguen Seanna Millar (NYGH Foundation), Jennifer Leach (RBC), Bruce MacDonald (Imagine Canada), and Sean Meagher (The Change Lab) were insightful and thought provoking.
And special thank you to The National Club's Cecilia Gibbons and Laurie Farnum for your support in executing this event. We really enjoyed the elegance and charm of the National Club!

As a parent I know first hand how they labour each day to provide professional care, compassion, understanding and encouragement to all those entrusted to their care. Most of their efforts are unseen yet incredibly valuable to ensure the services and supports that they provide enrich the lives of each one.
They seek countless opportunities to allow their charges to grow and flourish in a safe and supportive community. Many go beyond what is required to add value and dignity to the lives of those living with a developmental or intellectual disability which is the right of all Ontarians.
It is truly fitting that Valentine's Day falls within this week of Appreciation as these outstanding organizations and devoted front-line staff are the HEART of this sector.
Raksha, thank you for highlighting and acknowledging the tireless efforts of all those who contribute to the Nonprofit Sector.
We can never calculate the value their hours of service have added to the lives of their clients and families that are the grateful recipients of their outstanding service and care.
