Nominator Comments:
Since 2005 the Macaulay Child Development Centre and community partners hosted an event in the local barbershop that focused on the role of Black fathers, which now holds monthly facilitated discussions about fathering in five barbershops in the Eglinton and Oakwood neighbourhoods. More than a Haircut builds the capacity of the Eglinton Oakwood neighbourhood and local barbershops as a source of information and support for positive, involved fathering. The Barbershop sessions have in-depth discussions that address the root causes of fathering issues in the Black community
