2016 Dedication Award - Lower Mainland

Director, Housing and Violence Prevention

YWCA Metro Vancouver

Nominator Comments:

Lisa has been working with the YWCA for 15 years. Lisa is an incredible asset to the YWCA and her commitment, knowledge and experience informs the YWCA’s actions and services that support women and children who have experienced violence. Lisa is a leader in the community and for many years has been a participant on many committees.

Lisa is a compassionate and caring individual who goes out of her way to support the clients in her programs and the staff on her team. Alongside her leadership responsibilities, she takes time every week to respond to calls from women in need of support to escape violence or who are facing homelessness. Lisa listens to their challenges and ensures they receive immediate support or referral to appropriate resources. This front line work allows Lisa to identify gaps in services and develop responses.
