Shauna Mokelki manages I hope family centre, Family Services of the North Shore’s busy multi-faceted family resource program with ease and incredible competence. She knows how to empower her staff, encourages them to take responsibility for improvements they want to see, and supports them to make changes. She understands each staff members’ strengths and enlists help from just the right person for just the right task. She also understands that developing her staff to be the best they can be means families who visit the centre will have a better experience. She invests considerable time and energy nurturing each staff’s personal and professional development. She has nurtured partnerships with numerous organizations, schools and libraries, partnering with them to provide accessible programming. She always thinks about how to draw people in and build connections in the community. Shauna is committed to serving the whole community. She is constantly looking at barriers and then figuring out creative ways to address them.
