Nominator Comments:

Stepping Stone ensures client/member ease of access to services and support through a comprehensive, wrap-around approach that addresses diverse needs under one roof. By offering housing, food, and a range of services holistically, we eliminate barriers that may prevent individuals from seeking referrals elsewhere. Our client-centered approach is strengthened by staff members with lived experiences, enabling them to connect with clients on a deeper level. As a client-led organization, Stepping Stone prioritizes the voices of those we serve at every level, ensuring that their perspectives shape our services and support. This integrated model not only facilitates access to essential resources but also creates a supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered., The Stepping Stone team makes significant contributions to enhanced outcomes for the sex work community through a multifaceted approach that prioritizes empowerment, advocacy, and comprehensive support. We provide a safe and inclusive space where sex workers can access a wide range of services, including healthcare, legal assistance, counseling, food security, housing, and educational resources. The Stepping Stone team’s effort is aimed at raising awareness regarding the rights and needs of sex workers while challenging stigma and discrimination. Additionally, we collaborate with community organizations, policymakers, and stakeholders to advocate for policy reforms and social change that promote the rights and well-being of sex workers. Through our client-centered approach, we ensure that the voices and experiences of sex workers are central to our work, empowering them to advocate for their rights and access the support they need to thrive.
